# 104 Veil ready!

Duong came over to help with cooking while the boys were out in the yard playing with sticks and grass and lake. Ha. Woke up, ate the grits for breakfast, ate the casserole and grits for lunch, and proceeded to search for veil-making materials since I freaking lost my tulle. Went over to the bridal section- they sold the metal combs for $10! I'm like, wtf, this is at most .70- so we walk over to the jewelry section and lo and behold, 1.49. Stupid bridal markup.

Went back to the office and made my veil! Soooo pretty! I love it! We also set up our tables and centerpieces to see what it would look like. Back at the house, we had searched for the centerpiece branches- but since they were wet, we only spray painted one of the them. I am very happy with it! Now I'm looking for little birds or insects to put on the branches. Cute.

# 78 Plates and Glasses

My boo and I looked at the cost of renting versus buying. We didn't want disposable ware because it's just too darn wasteful; tasteful looking ones cost almost as much as buying the real thing so we opted for buying 120 white stoneware dishes that have this elegant white beading around the edges for wholesale. As for the drinking glasses, I think it'd be neat to buy out all of the thrift stores' wine glasses. This mix and matching allows for an eclectic mix of cute stemware. Why I opted to do this? Because I didn't want plastic champagne/wine glasses with real stoneware. Plus I really really want a nice & pretty table setting. Desperately. Part show/part lower expense. Since all of the tables will look the same in terms of having the same plates, table cloths, centerpieces, etc., one element could change it up but still consistent with the look since all of the glasses will be clear with no ornamental sign.

- Bought 37 white plates so far: need 83 more (89.23) spent 39.78

#62 Ceramics: DoneZO with the sculpting

I had a ceramic centerpiece day yesterday w/ Carry, Diane, & Wew. Man, Carry and I might not carry the longest convo in English but can that girl sculpt. Granted we worked for maybe 3.5-4 hours total, we pumped out 10 tall leaf vases. What. The. Crap. Then today, I scheduled another ceramic day from 2-3 and Rae & I pumped out 2 more vases! That's a total of 12 vases thus far... and seeing how quickly we were able to produce them, I kind of want to make some more but this time much more leisurely, therefor being a much better vase. Maybe something more ornate and organic as opposed to slap-slabbed together. I don't know who else out there will actually go as far as making their centerpiece VASES from scratch. I mean, get the clay, sculpt the clay, let it dry, fire the clay, glaze it, and fire it again. I see it as a longer term investment- put the hours in now and reap the benefits later. Well, now too since clay is so therapeudic.

# 57 update

I've made myself some deadlines but to heck if I'm really doing it! Invites were SUPPOSED to be done last Monday but I want to scrap the entire idea, therefore I'm back at square 1. Crap. crap. I am supposed to start printing in the middle of the month. Start stuffing and getting them ready to mail out by the end of the month. I think I might get ulcers. At least I'm supposed to start my centerpiece ceramics next week with the help of Carry! We're going to just make the vases. Why?
1) doing 12-15 skinny tall vases are less obvious than doing 12-15 HUGE island centerpieces.
2) it'll be a lot faster
3) since I'm technically not enrolled in a ceramics class, I don't want to get in trouble by using their sweet facilities.

I am trying to milk the fact that I'm still a student at UWF and I have sweet access to all of these facilities.

I took on a freelance job from the UWF History Dept. while being a fulltime student and an over-part time worker. We'll see how this semester turns out!! And the next because apparently Tommy B. wants us to go on a 2 week honeymoon vacation immediately following the wedding, therefore I'll be missing the first 2 weeks of school. Hey, I love my boo, what can I say. Can't wait for the 'moon. I loves it!

# 17 Centerpiece Trial 1

Wowsers! At my parent's house, I got a little crazy- I just HAD to see a very rough layout of what I wanted. I couldn't find a stick out in the dark(weird, I know) but anyway, I love the whole hemp and leaf idea.
